The best photographs we have of our kids are candid shots, captured informally without them being posed and sporting fake smiles. Instead you see innocent faces and fresh smiles, capturing the essence of their personalities, whether riding their bikes or playing with the family dog. Speaking of dogs, I traumatised our last dog badly, stalking her with my camera trying to capture the perfect shot. This upset her so much whenever a camera appeared she would stealthily slink into the shadows and hide, taking camera shy to a whole new level!
“Photography is about capturing souls, not smiles.”
