Do the groundwork…

My boys were lucky enough to achieve great results in their final year of school, but I don’t believe it was a result of the time they spent studying in that year. Instead it was a culmination of all the years of hard work that had come before. Right from the time they began Primary School to the time of their last year, they worked diligently, and this created the perfect platform for their final exams. Many kids and parents believe the earlier years results meant little, but in my eyes it is a perfect grounding for your final year and my boys are living proof of this. Many of their classmates had been slack over the years and knuckled down to work really hard in Year 12, however, despite virtually putting their lives on hold to study, they didn’t achieve the results they wanted. My boys on the other hand studied, but also had a life away from their books. They are both fortunate to have minds that retain all that they learn; I used to be like that in my younger years but unfortunately my mind is becoming more and more like a sieve with bits of knowledge constantly slipping through the holes!
