It’s almost New Years Eve, time to send of the old year and herald in the new. It’s a time for looking back on the good times and bad, and looking forward to a brand new calendar, ready to fill. Often there will be sadness when we think of loved ones that have departed this world, or rejoicing at a new life born. I came across the following quote by Anne Landers and think it is sound advice to follow.
“Let this coming year be better than all the others. Vow to do some of the things you’ve always wanted to do but couldn’t find the time. Call up a forgotten friend. Drop an old grudge, and replace it with some pleasant memories. Vow not to make a promise you don’t think you can keep. Walk tall, and smile more. You’ll look ten years younger. Don’t be afraid to say, ‘I love you’. Say it again. They are the sweetest words in the world.”
This year my New Years resolution is to make the most of all I have, and not let little problems get me down. Life is too short to spend being miserable, so smile, raise your glass and bring on 2018! May it be a happy and healthy one for you all!
