Life is too short…

It’s amazing how often the daily prompt is extremely relevant to something in your life. Today would have been my brother in laws 54th birthday, but sadly he passed away 22 years ago from pancreatic cancer, leaving behind his wife and 3 kids. They lived in Tasmania and we visited often, together going to various tourist destinations such as Cradle Mountain and Cataract Gorge Reserve. The Gorge has walking tracks, a swimming pool, the worlds longest single span chairlift, a restaurant, a cafe and a suspension bridge. Peacocks and native wildlife wander the grounds, and it is a wonderful place to spend the day, particularly with kids. My niece and nephews grew to hate Cradle Mountain, because every time someone visited it was on the itinerary, causing a threefold eye roll and cries of “not Cradle Mountain AGAIN! ”
I have many treasured family memories and still miss my brother in law, and also his wife, who tragically passed away a few years later. It is almost unbelievable that in this day and age those kids lost both parents while they were in their thirties, and from different conditions.
Two of them have their own precious families now, and I know what proud, doting grandparents they would have been.
Treasure each day and every memory you make because you never know what tomorrow will bring…
” Enjoy the little things in life, because one day you will look back and realise they were the big things.”
