(above pic is for last year – 27th October 2016) Two years ago Tracey and I made the decision to write a book about our memories of motherhood. Little did we know that writing it would be the easy part with the publishing process and marketing proving to be far more challenging. Book marketing is a business in itself and is intrinsically about communicating to our readers why they want to read our book. We were over the moon the day our hard copy books arrived, and extremely proud of ourselves. Exciting times followed with a media release in several newspapers, and a book signing event at which we sold a large number of books. We are thrilled with the many positive reviews we have had on Amazon and Goodreads and were lucky enough to have received a five star Readers Favourite Award. Many people have told me that they have always wanted to write a book but haven’t got around to it; Tracey and I wanted to, and we actually did!
I’m proud of many things in my life, but nothing beats being a mum. That being said, having a book published is pretty damn good!
“Writing is an extreme privilege, but it’s also a gift. It’s a gift to yourself and it’s a gift of giving a story to someone.”
