If you are like me then you love capturing moments on your camera. A myriad of photos adorn the walls of our house ( lucky we have cathedral ceilings which means more wall!) featuring family shots, holiday montages and of course my beloved dog. These days with the wonderful quality of the cameras on the iPhone I am happy to snap away with that, but pre phones you were reliant on your actual camera. I used to be so disappointed when I saw photos where the colours would pop and my photograph of the same subject would come out grainy, lacking colour and vibrancy. I decided to do some research and learnt that ISO was the culprit and discovered some tips to help eliminate grain in your photos.
*Lower ISO = less grain.
*When shooting with a higher ISO, slightly overexpose in camera.
*Know that when editing, raising the shadows can introduce or magnify grain.
These days, as I said, I mainly use my iPhone 7 plus and I am constantly amazed at the quality of my “happy snaps”. Apple also provide fabulous 40 second clips to show you how to improve your skills; eg how to shoot action, how to shoot without a flash, how to shoot a vertical pano, how to shoot a close up, how to shoot a great portrait and many more.
” Life is like a camera….
Focus on what’s important,
Capture the good times,
Develop from the negatives,
And if things don’t work out,
Take another shot…”
