Variety is the spice of life and when it comes to food I certainly like a broad range. Seafood however, and the commonly hated Brussel Sprouts and Tripe are on my list of will not touch. I enjoy spicy food in moderation but only of the mild kind, whereas my husband says the hotter the better. I personally do not find any joy in having my mouth set on fire, and beads of sweat running down my face while I eat, but each to their own. If everyone were the same, variety would cease to exist, making this world a boring place indeed. Not only do I not enjoy food that is too hot from spices, I cannot eat or drink food that is too hot in temperature. It is usual in our house for my husband to be swallowing the last mouthful of his hot beverage as I am taking the first sip of mine. When out and we order coffee, my husband requests for his to be extra hot, and even then it is still often not hot enough for his liking. Me not liking my drinks too hot certainly proved a blessing when my boys were babies because looking after twins does not include leisurely drinking of your coffee whilst it is still hot!
“Variety’s the very spice of life that gives it all its flavour.”
