We crave many things in this world, from expensive items, power and sex to the more mundane lust for food or drink. My favorite lust is wanderlust; a German word for the irresistibly strong desire to travel or wander. I am lucky enough to have visited many places in this world, but there are so many, many more places that I have yet to see. Choosing where to go next is not an easy task, with mind blowing sights, amazing experiences and incredible events found in all corners of the globe but planning your holiday is all part of the fun. I am often asked what our favorite holiday destination is and find it hard to answer for every one of our trips has had its own highlights and special memories.
It’s hard to go past Africa, with its awe inspiring safaris and wildlife, yet Norway with its dramatic fjords and fantastic, magical Northern Lights display was equally as good.
Then there are so more wonderful parts of our own vast country that we have loved; and the list goes on. I always loved holidays in the sun but as I’ve got older I am happy to travel to colder climates ( often with less tourists) and see different things.
We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us. Now it is time for us to begin planning our next adventure and finding a new corner of our wonderful planet to explore and enjoy…I would love to hear others favorite holiday destinations to help inspire our planning.
“The gladdest moment in human life, me thinks, is a departure into unknown lands.”
Sir Richard Burton
