Family is the soil in which we grow the next generation. When the soil is deficient, the plants also are deficient and weakened, and they lose their defences. Families are like branches on a tree. They grow in different directions yet their roots remain as one. Love your family. Be kind to, and help one another. Make no room for regrets. Tomorrow is not promised and today is short.
I have done much in my life, but by far my biggest accomplishment is raising two amazing, intelligent young men of whom I am incredibly proud.
If you as parents cut corners, your children will too. If you lie, they will too. If you spend all your money on yourselves and give none to others, your children won’t either. And if you laugh at racial and gender jokes, another generation will pass on the poison. We as parents are both teachers and role models for our kids and if we don’t cultivate our family garden, it will grow nothing but weeds.
Family is not an important thing; it is everything.
“In time of test, family is best.” Burmese Proverb.
“Family: A social unit where the father is concerned with parking space, the children with outer space, and the mother with closet space.”
