Yummy Liptauer, perfect home-made dip for a party!

Marc Baron shares a recipe for Liptauer, a savory cheese spread from the regions surrounding Vienna.

Ingredients needed:

Cheese (250 grams/ 8oz – Cream cheese, cottage cheese, goat cheese or farmer’s cheese),

1 tablespoon sweet Hungarian paprika,

1 tablespoon capers,

1 teaspoon brown mustard, eg Dijon Seeded Mustard (not Yellow Mustard)

Half a small onion,

1 clove garlic,

1 teaspoon fresh caraway seeds.

(Optional: 1 tablespoon chopped pickle, 1 tablespoon horseradish, 1 teaspoon anchovy, salt and pepper.)

Combine & Mix ingredients in a bowl with a fork.

Cover & place in the fridge overnight for the flavors to blend through. Then serve with your favorite crackers or bread. This will last in your fridge for a week, it will probably be all eaten before then!

I have made this Liptauer myself and it was a huge hit with the family and have taken it to quite a few parties as well.
