“Putting on a new pair of glasses or sunglasses is a simple way to completely transform your look – just like a new hairstyle.”
One of my favourite duties in my job is help patients select new glasses. There are a myriad of frames from which to select, and people’s faces are all very different making it a sometimes lengthy process. What you like on the shelf may not suit your face at all, likewise others you may not consider will look fabulous on. Gone are the days when you had to look like a nerd or Fearless Fly when wearing glasses, now they are a fashion statement and come in all colours and shapes.
I am a paragon of honesty when giving my opinion, I hate nothing more than a sales assistant telling you how good you look when trying on clothes, when you know damn well they look awful. I want people to look good and be happy; glasses are an expensive fashion accessory that are worn every day. I may not improve the way you see, ( that’s the optometrist’s job) but I can certainly improve the way you look!
One of the benefits of my job is being able to own more than one pair of glasses – currently I have 6 – and 3 pairs of prescription sunglasses!
“I like that glasses suggest intelligence and fashion rather than broken eyes.”
