The strikingly bright blue iridescent sea shimmered in the intense heat, waves of heat emanating from its aqua depths. Onshore the Jacaranda flowers provided a vivid splash of mauve against the picturesque background of pristine white sand. A lonely seagull soared, its white wings beating across the vibrant blue, cloudless sky. A sailboat bobbed lazily on the horizon and the smell of suntan lotion permeated the air. If I close my eyes and let my mind drift I can almost feel the sun beating down on me. The shrill ringing of the telephone shatters my daydream and reality rudely interrupts my sojourn.
One day I will return…
